       This file provides information  for  Shareware  Distributors
       and  Disk Vendors who wish to distribute	the WinXs 2.0 pack-
       age, including an extract from  the  license  agreement	and
       suggested program descriptions and keywords.

       DISTRIBUTION

       The complete license agreement  is  contained  in  the  file
       LICENSE.TXT.

       The following paragraph	is  an	extract	 from  the  license
       agreement  regarding  the distribution of the Shareware ver-
       sion of WinXs:

	  Anyone distributing WinXs for	any  kind  of  remuneration
	  must first contact the author	at the address given in	the
	  file REGISTER.TXT for	authorization.	This  authorization
	  will	be automatically granted to distributors recognized
	  by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines for  shareware
	  distributors,	 and  such  distributors may begin offering
	  WinXs	immediately  (However  the  author  must  still	 be
	  advised  so  that  the distributor can be kept up-to-date
	  with the latest version of WinXs).

       OBTAINING THE LATEST VERSION

       Before distributing WinXs please	verify that  you  have	the
       latest  version.	  The  latest  version	of  WinXs is always
       available in the	GO WINSHARE area on CompuServe,	in the fol-
       lowing files:

	    winxs16.zip	 -  for	Windows	3.1 and	3.11
	    winxs32.zip	 -  for	Windows	95 and NT

       SUGGESTED DESCRIPTION

       WinXs for Windows is a suite of programs	that  brings  Unix-
       style tool functionality	to the Windows platform.  This ver-
       sion of the program runs	on Windows 3.1,	Windows	 for  Work-
       groups,	Windows	 95  or	 Windows  NT,  and it consists of a
       series of 35 popular file  and  text  utility  commands	and
       utility	applets.   Access and implement	them using the menu
       bar in the Windows File Manager,	or the Explorer	and Taskbar
       in  Windows 95/NT.  The distribution includes cat, cmp, col,
       compress, csplit, df, diff, dircmp,  dos2unix,  du,  expand,
       file,  find,  fmr,  fold, grep, hd, head, ls, man, more,	nl,
       pax, pr,	sed, sort, split, strings,  tail,  tr,	uncompress,
       unix2dos, uuencode, uudecode, wc	and others.

       REQUIREMENTS

       The 32-bit version requires Windows 95  or  Windows  NT,	 at
       least  4mb  of RAM and 3.6mb of disk space.  The	16-bit ver-
       sion requires Windows 3.1  or  Windows  for  Workgroups,	 at
       least 4mb of RAM	and 2mb	of disk	space.

       REGISTRATION

       US$18 to	receive	code key and copy of the WinXs User  Refer-
       ence Manual by email (if	possible) or on	floppy disk.
